A Bit of Wisdom From a Former President…

This has probably been posted here before and definitely elsewhere, but it  bears repeating in our day and age.

Abraham Lincoln once said,

“You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.

You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.

You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.

You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down.

You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.

You cannot build character and courage by taking away people’s initiative and independence.

You cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves.”

I think President Lincoln was a pretty smart man.  And our new President compares and perhaps would like to model himself and his presidency on the former president’s example.  Hey, Mr. President!  How about reading this bit of wisdom from President Lincoln and starting here…right now!  That would bring common sense back into vogue in our nation.  I am praying for you.

  1. Another good post, as usual. I really like the words above, and am so frustrated that right now, our country is being run by people who simply do not want a self-reliant populace. It doesn’t fit into their plans; if anything, it thwarts their plans.

Keep up the good fight! Great job!
