Anyone else getting a sensation of mob rule going on in America? The problem is, I can’t see the people in the mob; I can only see the dominoes falling down like a big gust of wind is doing it. And they seem to be falling VERY fast. If this keeps up, the French guillotines can’t be far behind. What am I talking about?
Ever since the shooting in Charleston, S.C., which was responded to WITHOUT riots, looting and the burning of private businesses which would put people out of jobs, I have been watching events unfold like dominoes falling. The response to the shooting was very prayerful, and civil. No unrest, no big kerfuffle. Forgiveness was extended to the perpetrator in the courtroom. Methinks there are those who just could not handle that. Where is the scapegoat? We always have a scapegoat?
Used to be, in the very recent past, when the mob (the pc police) demanded something, businesses and people would push back, go to court, etc. Last week, TVLand folded without a whimper, as well as all retailers (that I can find) of the Confederate flag. Were they even ASKED to remove the old, fun, hit TV show, The Dukes of Hazard? Did anyone request it? I never heard one word of any pressure put on them. What is this mighty gale blowing across our land? One governor of one state decided to not fly the Confederate flag due to what she perceived as its message. And she is Republican.
Was that it? I secretly suspect it may be. A Republican made this request. The Progressives can’t have a Republican making this request and being the lead story….the story must be…I’ve got it! Political Correctness! All of a sudden, stores are removing the Confederate flag, TV Land is removing the Dukes of Hazard. I ask, did anyone demand it of them? Nikki Haley, the governor of South Carolina, didn’t demand it. I just heard a commentator on tv say what might be the answer….They want to be on the right side of the issue. Was it an issue? Not before the shooting, not so much. It was like, we had to blame something or someone, so we blamed a flag, an inanimate object. Or is it more than that? It sure feels like it is more than that. Was it because the usual response didn’t happen to this shooting? Ah…that may be where the answer lies. We are so used to a nationwide boogeyman as a response to shooting events. Leftie Progressive types usually start wanting guns banned.
Yes, I agree, there are nut cases with nutty ideas, who fly the Confederate flag. That’s one person’s explanation of why it simply “must” be removed. But there are nutty people who eat Twinkies, and we don’t ban Twinkies. (A Twinkie made me do it…couldn’t resist!) There are others who are interested in the historical value of it. Then there are more who see it as a free speech issue as I do. I am not from the South and never in my life did I want to own my very own Confederate flag…until now. It’s the principle of the thing!
I’ve been talking to people at Walmart today. This is after I came across a shop freely selling the Confederate flag, and I bought as many as I wanted AND posted it on Facebook so my friends can go get theirs. Oh, did I say that? What I want to say to Walmart is this: When the government bans everything on your shelves, what will you do then? One lady at the deli counter said it best, in response to the question I just posed, but it’s not Politically Correct to repeat it. Oh,well, perhaps I can plead ignorance…she said, “By that time, we’ll all be in our homes wearing head scarves.” You sure have to admire her spunk! She is paying attention. She told me she has a vinyl cutter at home and she cut out a little Confederate flag and stuck it to her plastic drink cup. I say, you go, girl.
What I want to say to TVLand is this: When the government bans every program you carry, what will you do then?
I wonder how long Facebook will leave my photo of that flag up?
And poor Donald Trump….he dared to speak some things and look how they are going after him. This is a classic Saul Alinsky tactic…”RULE 12: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it. Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions. (This is cruel, but very effective. Direct, personalized criticism and ridicule works.)”–taken from Rules for Radicals by Saul Alinsky, community organizer. Watching businesses fold right and left that do business with Trump, I predict the end goal is to completely drain him of all his fortune, and thereby minimize him to nothing.
