Where we are

Psalm 2

Why do the nations conspire[a]
    and the peoples plot in vain?
The kings of the earth rise up
    and the rulers band together
    against the Lord and against his anointed, saying,
“Let us break their chains
    and throw off their shackles.”

The One enthroned in heaven laughs;
    the Lord scoffs at them.
He rebukes them in his anger
    and terrifies them in his wrath, saying,
“I have installed my king
    on Zion, my holy mountain.”

I will proclaim the Lord’s decree:

He said to me, “You are my son;
    today I have become your father.
Ask me,
    and I will make the nations your inheritance,
    the ends of the earth your possession.
You will break them with a rod of iron[b];
    you will dash them to pieces like pottery.”

10 Therefore, you kings, be wise;
    be warned, you rulers of the earth.
11 Serve the Lord with fear
    and celebrate his rule with trembling.
12 Kiss his son, or he will be angry
    and your way will lead to your destruction,
for his wrath can flare up in a moment.
    Blessed are all who take refuge in him.

UN demands Australia stop mining coal

UN demands Australia stop mining coal

Watts Up With That?

anthracite coalGuest essay by Eric Worrall

UN climate chief Christiana Figueres has stated that Australia must stop mining coal.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald;

Speaking at a conference in Melbourne on Wednesday, Christiana Figueres drew a parallel between Australia and the oil kingdom [Saudi Arabia] as countries that would need to diversify their economies as the world grapples with global warming.

Ms Figueres said ultimately Australia would have to move away from coal for environmental reasons and changes in global economic patterns. She said nobody was saying this would have to happen overnight, but the transition should be orderly, gradual and progressive.

‘”The science is very clear, there is no space for any new coal,” she said.

Ms Figures doesn’t have any specific advice about how Australia should fill the gigantic hole in her finances, which decommissioning the coal mining industry would create. Perhaps Ms…

Illinois Votes to Loosen Voting Standards

Illinois Assembly passed and the governor signed new voting regulations giving increased time for early voting (there already was quite a bit of time for early voting), same day registrations (gee, because some people just don’t have the time to register to vote until voting day), AND abolished the requirement for voters to have an identification card to show poll workers (even though you have to have one or two for everything else you do in the U.S. but voting is not that important, and besides, it’s too much of a burden to require that of people).

And the excuses go on and on and on. Pretty soon, others will be allowed to vote in your place because well, gee, you just can’t get there at all, so I’ll vote in your place, yada, yada, yada. It’s ok, because, well, you would have voted if you could have, and it’s not like it’s an extra vote, after all. I’m just voting FOR you, because you aren’t using your vote, so I will.

Can’t you just see it coming?

The press release coming out of Springfield was so much progressive propaganda. I work for a newspaper, but I just couldn’t see myself putting it in our paper without the corresponding dissent from one of my favorite column writers who can address each progressive deception appropriately.

I like what Mahatma Gandhi said: First they ignore you, then they mock you, then they fight you, then you win. Yeh.

Analyze This!

Democracy Alliance held a conference recently in Chicago. Someone left  one of their manuals behind with a list of the member groups in it. For a 503 c(4) organization that likes to keep its members’ names secret, this was quite a gift. It’s a glimpse into the Progressive agenda and pretty good propaganda reading. There are two documents. One is the list of the Alliance members and their budgets and purpose. The other is the agenda (Spring 2014 DAIR) and plan for the upcoming year and beyond. It’s quite a coup to have this for our perusal. I think you’ll find it interesting reading.

When Will The American Electorate Say…Enough?

We’ve got  the VA scandals, where veterans are not getting timely healthcare and are dying (this speaks volumes about the future of Obamacare), Benghazi scandals, where no one is willing to admit fault for the deaths of 4 Americans, and the cover up and stonewalling has gone on for over a year, IRS scandals, where conservative groups were targeted to stifle tax exempt status, and thereby voice, (although I would certainly not let that stop my voice), Obama Care, where the regulations keep changing every time an election comes around…and the hits just keep on coming. When is the corruption enough? When are the people ready to confront the tyranny, soft or otherwise, that we see taking place?

We’ve got a mainstream media, yawning every time the administration makes decisions like refusing to prosecute election crimes when blacks are the perpetrators, refusing to prosecute illegal aliens (there, I said it.), but yet setting their sights on law abiding citizens who believe in the Constitution. I could go on…but if anyone has been paying even a modicum of attention to any sources besides the the Yawning and Fawning Lame-stream media, they are not unawares of the state we now find ourselves in.

Rick Moran has an article today over at americanthinker.com, “Obama administration creates slush fund to bribe insurance companies to keep rates low.” It’s about new regulations buried in dozens of new rules released last week. They must have made a quiet  media dump on Friday afternoon again. Sigh. Did they think we wouldn’t find out? Obama is equal to death by a thousand paper cuts, except for some of us. We may go quicker with him at the helm of the (VA) Healthcare system. Just hold on to your seats, everyone….it may get a bit rockier before his term is up.

And those vets that died? If I was a betting person, I would check to see if they had an R by their names in their voting records. Somehow I just can’t see him letting vets with the D by their names go…

Monday is Memorial Day. We commemorate our soldiers slain in war. Do something nice for a living vet. They deserve it. Especially now.
